This game was interesting in as much as I had,nt played the Sicilian before and certainly not V Andrew,s opening, however,it turned out to be an intersting game to study for both of us.
There were missed chances for both players but we both enjoyed the arising positions from this game.
I hope to post other round 1 games soon from Richard Birkett and David Newton.

Club Summer Allegro, Round 1
The following game was played in round 1 of the Summer Allegro, 40 mins each per game.
David Gibb was playing his first competitive OTB game in many years due to ill health, in this game he showed he still had the ability to concentrate in what turned out to be a very challenging game. David is hoping to build up his stamina to compete in the Dundee Congress and after watching him play this game I am sure he will do it.
Davids opponent in this game was Kai Pannwitz who with a different concentration problem, youth!!, he played a very aggresive opening that nearly paid off on move 30,however,the winning move was missed, Black took the initiative and won soon after when Kai , so focussed on trying to win, left a piece en-prise.
Enjoy the game and I will post my own (RR) game against Andrew Newton next time:
