This game is from the recent Glenrothes Open, five Inverness players went to the Congress, Andrew Newton and Kai Pannwitz were entered in the Open tournament.
Kai played a spirited game against his higher rated opponent. The Opening was a Benko and after the opening was over Kai had a slightly worse position but White let it slip Kai then pressed home his advantage to win a good game:

This is a game played by Luainn against Fritz as a training game.
Luainn, like a lot of us here in Inverness,gets very few OTB games and so to get any practice at all there is only online or PC software.
Luainn has progressed a lot in recent months due to his studying tactics and looking, and playing, his openings as often as he can, as yet he hasn't played in any team games or congresses and so he has had an uphill struggle to get the practice he needs to improve his game.
Well done to Luainn for continuing to improve and I am sure he will be ready for his first tournament early this year:
